The author of worldwide best sellers \u201cThe Steve Jobs Way: iLeadership for a New Generation\u201d<\/i><\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cLeading Apple with Steve Jobs\u201d,\u00a0<\/i><\/b>for over 35 years, Jay Elliot has practiced his own leadership in the technology, entertainment and health care industries.\u00a0 In his books\u00a0Jay shares with us his first-hand experiences as Apple\u2019s Sr. Vice President of Operations where he worked side-by-side with Steve Jobs on a daily basis.\u00a0 His experience as an executive at both IBM and Intel helped him to recognize how Steve Jobs\u2019 extraordinary leadership propelled Apple Computer to become the most valued brand on earth.<\/h3>\n

Currently, Mr. Elliot is the Chairman, Founder of Nuvel, Inc.,\u00a0 a software company. He was the Founder and Chairman of Migo Software, Inc. a mobility software company, and inventor of its flagship product, Migo. \u00a0Mr. Elliot has more than 30 year\u2019s operations\u2019 experience with such corporate giants as IBM, Intel and Apple Computer.<\/p>\n

He served as the Senior Vice President of Apple Computer responsible for all corporate operations, including HR, Facilities, Real Estate, IT and corporate business planning reporting directly to Steve Jobs, Chairman of the Board, CEO. Also as a member of the Macintosh organization he helped Steve develop the Macintosh computer from development to introduction. During his tenure at Apple sales grew from $150 million to more than $3 billion.<\/p>\n

After graduating from college, Mr. Elliot joined IBM as a programmer working on the airline reservation system and moved into management in several key software projects in the Disk drive development business. \u00a0Elliot left IBM to join Intel and at Intel was the director of the California operations reporting to Intel\u2019s CEO, Andy Grove and Chairman, Gordon Moore.<\/p>\n

In addition to his vast technology background, Elliot has extensive experience in both the entertainment and healthcare industries.\u00a0 While at Apple he created Apple TV and internal employee TV communication system. He served as the chief executive officer of San Francisco Studios, where he produced the Academy Award nominated documentary, \u201cBerkeley in the Sixties,\u201d and the NBC television series, \u201cMidnight Caller.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the healthcare industry, Elliot was the chief executive officer of New Health Systems, a network technology group connecting physicians and payers to patients and affiliated hospitals.\u00a0 As part of the New Health plan, Mr. Elliot spent one year with the UCLA Medical Center and UCLA Computer Science Department helping to develop a software system for the operation of Tele-medical centers. Steve Jobs charged Jay Elliot with the responsibility for running the operations at Apple. That tenure lasted from 1980 to 1986, during which time he was responsible for all corporate operations, including Human Resources, Facilities, Real Estate, IT, Education and Pacific Rim Sales. He was also responsible for Apple\u2019s Corporate Business Planning and was a member of the Macintosh organization. During these years, Apple sales grew from $150 million to more than $3 billion.<\/p>\n

Prior to his time at Apple, he served as a Site Director at IBM and headed a 16,000-person software division; overseeing several key projects in the disc drive development business. Mr. Elliot left IBM to join Intel where also served as a Site Director and was the creator of the Intel Foundation (reporting to CEO, Andy Grove and chairman, Gordon Moore).<\/p>\n

After leaving Apple Mr. Elliot served as the CEO of San Francisco Studios where he produced the Academy Award-nominated documentary, “Berkeley in the Sixties;” as well as the NBC television series, “Midnight Caller” and numerous sports programs for NBC, CBS, and ABC, including the Barcelona Olympic Games. Later, he served as President of Acclaim West, producing programs for Fox, UPN, the Playboy Channel and Telemundo. Before returning to the technology\/software industry, he also served as the Chief Executive Officer of New Health Systems, a network technology company connecting physicians and vendors to patients and affiliated hospitals.<\/p>\n

Jay Elliot returned to his technology roots when he founded and served as Chairman of Migo Software, Inc. a mobility software company, where he invented its flagship product, Migo.<\/p>\n

He is currently the Founder and CEO of Nuvel, Inc. based out of Campbell, CA. Nuvel offers the emergency smart phone applications vSOS and vSOS Medi-Vac Plus; and is introducing Data Tunnel, allowing accelerated data transfer, and NuVault, a virtual safety deposit box utilizing smart phone bar code readers.<\/p>\n
